We are seeking a Permanent Safety Engineer with a focus on Civil Construction. This position will play a key role in our team, ensuring the safety of our construction projects, specifically related to pipeline, underground utilities, water, wastewater, storm, and stormwater systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safety, OSHA regulations, CPR, and civil construction.Responsibilities:As a Permanent Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for:1. Overseeing all safety aspects of civil construction projects, including pipeline, underground utilities, water, wastewater, storm, and stormwater systems.2. Developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs that comply with local, state, and federal regulations.3. Conducting regular site inspections to ensure adherence to safety standards and identifying potential hazards.4. Providing safety training to staff, including OSHA regulations, CPR, and safe handling of construction equipment.5. Investigating accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker's compensation claims.6. Preparing reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management.7. Collaborating with engineers, architects, and other construction professionals on safety-related matters.8. Ensuring all machinery and equipment are inspected regularly and meet safety standards.Qualifications:To be successful in this role, you will need:1. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Safety Engineer, preferably in the civil construction industry.2. Proven experience with pipeline, underground utilities, water, wastewater, pump station, storm, and stormwater systems.3. In-depth knowledge of safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and CPR.4. A degree in safety management, engineering, or relevant field is preferred.5. Certified safety professional or similar certification would be an advantage.6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and guide staff on safety practices.7. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.8. The ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.9. Proficiency in using safety inspection tools and software.10.
