Job Description:
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent
practical experience. 8 years of experience in software
development. 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership
role. Experience with object-oriented programming, templates, and
the Standard Template Library (STL). Experience developing software
applications using the C++ programming language. Preferred
qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or
related technical field. 3 years of experience working in a
complex, matrixed organization. Experience with system software,
virtualization, distributed systems, and complex multi-component
software systems. Experience in developing and releasing system
software products and C/C++ programming skills. Understanding of
key concepts of performance analysis and tuning with basic data
analysis and SQL skills with familiarity with the Linux kernel
interface and containers. Passion for reliability, efficiency, and

technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across
multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee
the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites
internationally. The Borglet team runs as groups of 3-5 people
executing on various projects in all major areas of infrastructure.
The team is growing with some growth expected in the near future.
The team is focused on key large initiatives in AI2 like ML/AI
Infrastructure (GPU/TPUs in server platform), Security, Capacity
Fungibility, Warp Space (TI VMs). This presents a great opportunity
for clear impact and growth. In this role, you will be a passionate
engineer manager to help in the area of Runtime, Virtualization,
Node Evolution and solve critical problems in this space. The ML,
Systems, & Cloud AI (MSCA) organization at Google designs,
implements, and manages the hardware, software, machine learning,
and systems infrastructure for all Google services (Search,
YouTube, etc.) and Google Cloud. Our end users are Googlers, Cloud
customers and the billions of people who use Google services around
the world. We prioritize security, efficiency, and reliability
across everything we do - from developing our latest TPUs to
running a global network, while driving towards shaping the future
of hyperscale computing. Our global impact spans software and
hardware, including Google Cloud’s Vertex AI, the leading AI

base salary range for this full-time position is $207,000-$300,000
bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role,
level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined
by work location and additional factors, including job-related
skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your

expectations with individuals based on their level and role and
aligned to the broader organization's goals. Meet regularly with
individuals to discuss performance and development and provide
feedback and coaching. Develop the mid-term technical goal and
roadmap within the scope of your (often multiple) teams. Evolve the
roadmap to meet anticipated future requirements and infrastructure
needs. Design, guide and vet systems designs within the scope of
the broader area, and write product or system development code to
solve ambiguous problems. Review code developed by other engineers
and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style
guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and
efficiency). Provide technical leadership for designing,
implementing, and analyzing low-level computer systems and their
interactions with the kernel and hardware.
