Yahoo Mail AntiSpam Engineering: The Yahoo Mail Antispam team develops and maintains high-performing systems that reliably protect our users from spam, phishing, fraud, and abuse with advanced ML/AI algorithms. These systems require extreme reliability, resilience, and performance. We are tackling some of the toughest challenges in architecture design, algorithm development, and data engineering. There are numerous opportunities to innovate in all these areas.
Qualifications

• 
  
• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field with a strong understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, OS, and Networking
  
• 5+ years experience in software development with Go, Java, and/or C++
  
• 2+ years experience in owning and designing components of large-scale systems
  
• Experience in algorithm design and ML/AI
  
• Experience with public cloud technologies (GCP, AWS)
  
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex issues in cloud environments
  
• Working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Perl, and/or Ruby
  
• Proven ability to lead and mentor junior engineers in the team
  
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and initiative
  
  Preferred Qualifications
  
  • 
    
  • Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, HBase, and Spark
    
  • Previous exposure to anti-spam or anti-abuse engineering
    
  • Familiarity with data mining, text processing, and classification algorithms
    
  • Proficiency in statistical methods and exploratory data analysis
    
  • Ability to balance resources, constraints, requirements, and complexity
    
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, CI/CD pipelines, and management
    
  • Lead projects and mentor team members
    
  • Participate in agile development with weekly sprints, planning, estimating, daily standups, and retrospectives
    
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers and cross-functional teams
    
  • Recommend alternative approaches and adopt new technologies to achieve goals
