Job Description:


The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for ensuring the correct processing of weekly payroll, auditing of the payroll and auditing of the data going into the HRIS after the personnel authorization forms have been processed for the location.

Comply with Boral Safety Policies and Procedures

Assists department in carrying out various human resource programs and procedures for all plant employees

Administration and auditing of the weekly payroll for the before and after it's processed

Administration and tracking of all data going into the HRIS including LOA (FMLA, STD & LTD), Performance Reviews (90-day, mid-year & annual) and Corrective Actions & compiling various reports

Participates in recruitment efforts & helps coordinate the use of temporary employees

Assists with new-employee orientations; administers pre-employment tests; conducts reference checks

Maintains human resource information in the employee files

Communicate effectively with team members and share appropriate information to ensure team success

Train, coach, and develop employees. Track personnel progress

Performs other related duties as required and assigned

Strong verbal and written communication skills and maintain attention to detail
Ability to understand and execute verbal and written instructions
Ability to accurately perform moderately complex mathematical calculations
Ability to multi-task
Must have strong internal and external customer service skills
Ability to problem solve and use basic trouble shooting skills
Ability to work independently, use good judgment and interact with others in a professional manner
Experienced with ADP Payroll and HRIS software and E-time
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Access)
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
1 - 2 years' experience in functional role

The employee should possess the ability to:
Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable
Complete repetitive movements
Wear all required personal protective equipment
Lift/move/transport items up to 10 pounds
Move or traverse about the facilities
Work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions
Prolong sitting in stationary position for up to eight hours per workday
