Registered Nurse (RN) | Labor & Delivery Location: Tracy, CA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $3,080 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (provider), Advanced Fetal Monitoring Must-Have: - Must be comfortable with baby and delivered mother - Previous charge experience preferred - Patient ratio experience required - Charting system experience preferred Description: The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery provides care for mothers and newborns during the labor and delivery process. The nurse is responsible for performing sterile vaginal exams and triaging obstetrical patients. Experience with external fetal monitoring is required. The nurse administers blood and blood products and starts and maintains IVs. Experience with infusion pumps and IV monitoring is essential. The nurse will also manage medications such as antiseizure and antihypertensives, including magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin, and terbutaline. Assisting with vaginal deliveries and circulating for C-sections are key responsibilities. The nurse will provide care for C-section recovery and perform APGAR assessments. Knowledge of ID/security banding and epidural anesthesia is necessary. Pain assessment and management skills are required, including the use of PCA (IV). The nurse will be responsible for fundus, lochia, and perineum care. Additional responsibilities include addressing bladder distension and managing pregnancy-induced hypertension. Following isolation precautions and utilizing personal protective equipment is essential in this role. Interdisciplinary support will include collaboration with physical therapy, interpretation services, and social services. The nursing professional will be expected to adhere to patient care protocols and meet the demands of a fast-paced environment.
