Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Labor and Delivery - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/03/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days, nights - Employment Type: Travel Title: Travel Labor & Delivery RN – Day & Night Shifts, Sutter Health, CA Location: Sutter Health – California Start Date: November 3, 2025 Duration: 13 weeks Shifts Available: - Day: 3x12-hour (07:00 – 19:30) - Night: 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:00) - Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for this travel assignment. This role provides comprehensive care for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients, as well as newborns. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of recent experience in labor and delivery and be comfortable managing high-risk deliveries, cesarean sections, and immediate newborn care. Responsibilities: - Provide care in Labor & Delivery, LDRP, Antepartum, High-Risk Antepartum, Level I Nursery, and Mother/Baby units. - Perform neonatal care including APGAR scoring, cord sampling, neonatal resuscitation, and thermoregulation. - Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, including forceps and vacuum-assisted deliveries. - Administer medications including anticoagulants, antihypertensives, antiseizure medications, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, prostaglandins, and terbutaline. - Support patient education, postpartum care, and baby-friendly protocols including breastfeeding support and car seat education. - Utilize Epic charting system for accurate documentation. - Participate in interdisciplinary support and collaborate with physical therapy, social services, phlebotomy, and interpretation services. Requirements: - Current California RN License - Minimum 2 years Labor & Delivery experience - Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring - Travel experience preferred - Comfortable managing both mother and baby during deliveries - Epic charting experience preferred Additional Information: - Orientation includes in-person training, e-learning, and on-floor shifts. - Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of assignment start. - Local candidates accepted; travel within 50 miles of the facility may apply. - Only one holiday RTO will be approved.
