In Tracy California the Taylor Farms Pacific Deli location serves our Retail Deli customers on the west coast and beyond with an assortment of fresh & healthy deli products. From freshly prepared meals to on-the-go salads and snacks, Taylor Farms Deli has amazing, chef-crafted recipes that keep our customers happy. Our love for healthy and wholesome convenience is what keeps us motivated to bring you nothing but the best deli products. We produce over 500 different products in our 24-7 operation. Formally Pacific Precut Produce, Taylor Pacific has been in Tracy over 20 years and was acquired by Taylor Fresh Foods in 2005. We are currently one of the largest employers in Tracy. We help organizations such as The Boys & Girls Club of Tracy, The Mc Henry House, The Tracy Family Resource Center and the Local Schools, just to name a few. Summary: The primary role of the Quality Assurance Manager position is to ensure compliance with all relevant Regulatory Requirements and Guidelines, Ensure compliance with all Customer Expectations and Internal Quality and Food Safety Standards and Policies. The nature of this position requires flexibility and the ability to embrace Change. The Quality Assurance Manager must be highly self-motivated and exemplify the ability to work effectively as a Team Player, with the ability to interact across departmental and cross-functional boundaries, minimizing conflict and maximizing continuous improvement and good will. Significant weight is given to this last qualification in assessing leadership capabilities. The Quality Assurance Manager shall be able to assume duties of the Director of Food Safety and in the absence of this position, the Director of Food Safety will assume responsibilities.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in science related field, preferably Microbiology, Crop Science, Biology, Chemistry and Agricultural Business and/or Food Science Or minimum of 8 years work experience with Quality Assurance in a food plant manufacturing environment.
  • HACCP - Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point certification / formalized training
  • Experience developing and implementing a functional HACCP program
  • Working knowledge of HACCP, Food Plant Sanitation, Pest Control and GMP
  • Knowledge of GAP requirements for farming operations desirable
  • Specific Audit experience with 3rd party auditors; Primus, AIB, Silliker, Yum! Brands
  • Experience with Pest Management Companies / Experience developing a Pest Management Program
  • Experience developing and implementing Raw, Finished and Environmental Microbiological Analysis Programs
  • Experience developing and performing monthly Facility Audits
  • Experience developing, implementing and training Standard Operating Procedures
  • Experience developing Raw and Finished product specifications
  • Experience developing Prerequisite Programs
  • Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
  • Experience with Customer Complaint database tracking and feedback program
  • Experience in Sanitation Procedures
  • Experience working with Regulatory Affairs (USDA & FDA)
  • Enforce required PPE and OSHA requirements
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Word, Excel and Access experience required
  • Spanish preferred, but not required Job Responsibilities:
    • Responsible for managing the Quality Assurance Technicians and department supervisors.
    • Mentor and train QA hourly and supervisory employees - which includes but is not limited to GMP, CCP, Food Safety, Quality Specification, Employee Safety and Sexual Harassment training.
    • Work with customers to improve relationships
    • Manage or assist managing all customer complaints
    • Conduct Annual Mock Recalls per customer specifications
    • Manage all aspects of shelflife including documentation, trend analysis and reports
    • Write all customer and product specifications; Raw and Finished
    • Conduct all internal facility audits
    • Manage all aspects of the Microbiological Sampling Program and Test & Hold Program
    • Manage Pest Management Company
    • Monitor all GMP and Food Safety Programs
    • Responsible for enforcing continuous improvement to food safety and quality
    • Follow and enforce all the policies and procedures set forth to promote quality and food safety, and report any food safety and quality concerns.
    • Responsible for enforcing the development, implementation, maintenance and ongoing improvement of the SQF 2000 system
    • On call 365/24/7 manage 3 shift operations
    • 40+ hour workweek or as necessary to complete job function Condition of Employment:
      • The successful candidate will be required to provide documentation demonstrating the right to work in the United States upon hire.
      • The successful candidate must submit to post offer, pre-employment drug testing.
      • The successful candidate will be subject to employment history checks
