Kinsa is recruiting for an: R&D Manager - Beef, Pork,
Poultry - - - - -
Location: Tracy, California
Our client is a rapidly growing, family-owned further-processor of
raw and cooked proteins in search of an R&D Manager, who will
be a key management ingredient needed to achieve the next level of
success. -You will be an integral member of the management team,
supporting all aspects of the sales, development, quality and
production roll-out process. In this role, you will lead and
support the R&D team and serve as the chief protein and product
expert for the company, as well as being instrumental in the launch
of new items for existing and new customers focusing on the cooked
and RTE markets. If you appreciate a small-company dynamic where

Responsibilities:
--- - - -You will lead the commercialization process from benchtop
to large volume production for new and reformulated products
--- - - -Develop and maintain an innovative product development
pipeline including but not limited to clean label and low-sodium
reformulations, formulation and processing cost reduction, and
sourcing of high-quality preservative-free ingredients
--- - - -Optimize existing and new recipes and processes to enhance
product quality, production efficiencies, throughput, and
cost-effectiveness
--- - - -Manage new product set up, as well as documentation of
recipes and processes
--- - - -Work collaboratively with the Quality and Food Safety team
to provide technical support on products and ingredients and
participate in sensory evaluation and product shelf-life
studies
--- - - -Develop packaging solutions for new and existing product
lines
--- - - -Manage R&D technical documentation and label
information to conform with USDA regulatory requirements including
clean label
Experience/Education desired:
--- - - -Bachelor's degree in Meat Science or equivalent
--- - - -Solid knowledge of GMP's and HACCP
--- - - -Comfortable and effective in a sales environment with
customers and prospects
--- - - -General understanding of chemistry and microbiology
--- - - -Competent driving continuous process improvement
--- - - -Solid understanding of costs, yield and labor implications
during product development
