our journey?Overview: This position reports to the Sr. Project
Engineer and is responsible for developing detailed technical
drawings for the site including, but not limited to, equipment
designs and modifications, process piping and instrumentation
drawings (water, steam, electrical, chemical, fire protection,
etc.) and plant layouts. This role will also lead small projects
(capital and expense) to improve plant equipment, process
reliability, employee safety, product quality and reduce site
costs. Manage the site's technical library. Utilize the site's
document management program, Vault, to organize and maintain plant
technical files. Support the senior project engineer and other site
customers through the activities outlined above.What we ask of you:
The CAD Draftsperson/Small Projects Leader will, by nature of their
role, support the entire site and will also work closely with the
Plant Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Supervisors. The
production plant and operates 7 days per week, 24 hours per day.
The role must support the needs of a fast-paced operation and must
have the flexibility to respond adequately to the site's often
changing priorities. The incumbent will be expected to deliver
tangible savings and improvements through their work
activities.Project examples include: Root cause
analysis/maintenance reliability improvement projects - analyze and
take appropriate actions to improve an equipment failure or
recurring downtime issueManage small expense and or capital
projects including cost saving initiatives such as utilities
reduction opportunitiesAnalyze and provide recommendations to
reduce/minimize a safety risk in the plantAssist with
implementation of lean manufacturing initiatives - examples: create
a value stream map for a process, assist an area with 5s
implementation and improvements Other key responsibilities
include:AutoCAD/drafting work (ex. maintaining plant documentation
such as fire system prints), supporting larger capital projects led
by the two plant project engineers to increase overall project
throughput for the sit Process Safety Management (PSM) compliance
support. SOP development, documentation, training, implementation
of projects to address PHA recommendations, etc.Technical
documentation and revision management.Contractor safety
management.The CAD Draftsperson/Small Projects Leader will have
daily contact with the Plant Engineering Manager, Plant Project
Engineers and other customers.The incumbent will be encouraged to
make contact with similar roles at other Leprino sites as knowledge
gained and relationships built through the effective interface with
these co-workers and corporate personnel will be essential for
long-term success. Performance in the position can best be measured
by accuracy and output of technical documents produced as well as
improvements realized by the site through the individual's project
assignments. To be effective in this role, the incumbent must be
knowledgeable of all plant production processes and manufacturing
equipment in order to efficiently analyze and make improvements as
needed through their project work.You have the following minimum
qualifications: High School diplomaTwo-year degree in a related
technical fieldTwo years of related design/project experience in a
manufacturing environment (food industry preferred) supplemented by
appropriate training in AutoCAD/Inventor. You also have the
following desired knowledge, skills & competencies: Proficiency
utilizing AutoCAD and InventorProficiency with Microsoft Office
applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)Mechanical and electrical
aptitude and strong comprehension of spatial relationsStrong
mathematical aptitudeKnowledge of sanitary design
principlesPrevious maintenance experience a plus (technician,
supervisor)Exposure to and understanding of lean manufacturing
principles (5s, Kaizen, value stream mapping, mistake proofing,
quick changeover, visual controls, etc)Effective project management
