Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. The successful candidate is expected to report to Warren - GM Global Technical Center or Mountain View Technical Center, Mountain View California three times per week, or as otherwise dictated by the business.The RoleAs a Sr. Buyer, you will be responsible for purchasing all or a specific portion of productive and/or non-productive materials, supplies, machinery, tooling, and/or services. Your responsibilities include developing commodity strategies, leading complex global sourcing and negotiations with key suppliers, executing plans to meet direct material budget targets, and collaborating with suppliers and internal teams.Sr. Buyers are expected to contribute to the development of the purchasing team by leveraging their experience to coach peers. The work involves significant initiative, analytical skills, and judgment, and is of a sophisticated nature.This role requires comfort in operating independently and solving problems autonomously, while working with stakeholders from various functional groups. Candidates must prioritize tasks to maximize enterprise benefits for General Motors and the Global Purchasing and Supply Chain function.What You'll Do

• Maintain sourcing pipeline, benchmarking data, strategy presentations, global budget, and on-time metrics.
• Adhere to corporate and departmental purchasing and accounting practices.
• Sourcing and contracting activities, including:
  • Sourcing strategy, bid list development & management
  • Quote analysis and review
  • Coordination of RFQ components, including Terms & Conditions, SOR compliance, technical documentation, and quality alignment
  • Providing sourcing recommendations and aligning with cross-functional teams
  • Manage sourcing documentation in compliance with GM Audit Services requirements.
  • Support direct material budget activities.
  • Lead supplier relationship management initiatives, including strategic engagement and issue resolution.
  • Perform change management activities.
  • Represent purchasing in supplier KPI reviews.
  • Support mitigation of supply chain disruptions.Compensation: The salary range for this role is $98,900 - $158,000. The actual salary offered will depend on relevant factors. The compensation package may include bonuses based on company and individual performance.
